About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the full lifecycle of assigned REO assets, including occupancy determination, property preservation coordination, valuation, listing strategy, offer review, and closing
- Oversee vacant-to-list timelines and resolve delays to meet client SLAs
- Make decisions regarding marketing strategies, agent assignment, offer negotiations, property repair costs, maintenance, utilities, legal fees, valuation fees, and other disposition costs
- Review and approve BPOs, appraisals, and repair bids
- Coordinate property preservation vendors for inspections, securing, and maintenance
- Manage agent relationships throughout listing and offer processes, including pricing strategy, days-on-market management, and contract negotiation
- Monitor and report VTL, days under contract, closing probability, and STC pipeline metrics
- Prepare monthly projections reports covering sales, sales dates, and estimated losses
- Prepare and deliver client-facing reporting, commentary, and escalation summaries
- Conduct periodic on-site inspections of REO properties
- Collaborate with pre-marketing, evictions, property preservation, auction, closing, title, legal, and compliance teams
- Resolve title issues, HOA matters, code violations, and closing delays
- Reduce disposition timelines while balancing and minimizing investor losses
- Ensure compliance with investor, client, and regulatory guidelines
- Analyze complex data to develop marketing strategies and identify portfolio trends and process improvements
- Manage a portfolio of 150–200 assets
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in REO asset management, default servicing, real estate, or loss mitigation — or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Graduation from a 4-year college or university with major coursework in a discipline related to the requirements of the position preferred; equivalent job experience will be considered
- Strong knowledge of the REO disposition process, including property preservation, valuation, listing, contract management, and closing workflows
- Experience working within client-specific guidelines, such as GSE, bank, or servicer requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume portfolio of 150–200 assets with competing deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to produce professional client-facing deliverables
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and comfortably in a fast-paced environment
- Background with servicer or outsourcer REO operations preferred
- Familiarity with bid approval workflows, delegated authority matrices, and investor reporting preferred
- Experience supporting named client accounts with performance accountability preferred
