About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead, coach, and develop a team of four to five data scientists and business intelligence engineers
Act as a thought partner to senior data scientists and help solve complex problems
Embed AI into exploratory analysis, code generation, documentation, and synthesis with appropriate regulated-environment guardrails
Design and maintain scalable analytical assets in Snowflake
Build well-modeled datasets, shared metric definitions, and self-serve Tableau analytics
Reduce one-off analytics request volume
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Finance on complex cross-functional problems
Represent analytics in senior forums
Set analytical strategy for major product investments
Help teams understand tradeoffs
Own the quarterly analytics roadmap and prioritize high-impact opportunities
Translate ambiguous business questions into analytical plans
Translate analytical results into actionable recommendations for senior leaders

Requirements

What you’ll need

9+ years of experience in analytics, preferably in a data science role
5+ years of experience directly leading data science teams
Strong statistical and causal reasoning foundation
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Track record of influencing senior product and business leaders
Strong commercial and financial acumen
Thorough mastery of budgeting dynamics, top-line drivers, and bottom-line margin expansion
Proven skill in balancing near-term revenue targets against long-term profitability
Experience leading AI-assisted analytics teams
Experience designing review processes for AI-produced work
Demonstrated practical use of AI in an analytics workflow
Expert in SQL and data modeling
Experience building reusable analytical layers
Snowflake experience preferred
Proven background constructing scalable and self-serve business intelligence solutions
Candidates must be able to work in the Seattle or Detroit office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the hybrid arrangement; remote-only candidates may be considered if residing outside the specified areas
