About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using .NET and TypeScript for AI-driven agent platforms
Build and optimize TypeScript-based agents powering phone and chat communication experiences
Own technical solutions from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI agent solutions with existing systems and infrastructure
Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions for high-volume communication workflows
Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and provide feedback through code reviews
Troubleshoot complex production issues and improve system reliability, performance, and observability
Mentor less-experienced engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and standards
Evaluate emerging technologies to improve AI-driven customer experiences
Potentially participate in an on-call rotation, including nights and weekends, to support production systems and service reliability

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of professional software development experience post-graduation
Strong proficiency in .NET and TypeScript or Node.js
Strong understanding of backend development, API design, distributed systems, and GraphQL
Experience designing and delivering production software with increasing levels of ownership and complexity
Experience troubleshooting and supporting applications in production environments
Ability to write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and effectively review the work of other engineers
Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering and cross-functional teams
Experience with Sierra AI or similar platforms for building agentic communication experiences (preferred)
Experience with IVR, IVA, conversational AI, or contact center technologies (preferred)
Experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies (preferred)
Experience building AI or machine learning-driven applications (preferred)
Experience designing scalable, highly available backend services (preferred)
Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers (preferred)
