Key responsibilities & impact

Build, maintain, and improve integrations with employment and income data sources
Explore web and mobile applications to understand backend communication
Work with documented, partially documented, and undocumented third-party APIs
Debug authentication flows, network requests, and data extraction processes
Write clean, reliable, and maintainable Python code
Investigate technical issues and contribute to solutions
Learn and apply engineering practices, design patterns, and clean architectures
Contribute to testing, monitoring, and automation
Collaborate with engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, Frontend Developers, and other team members
Take ownership of work, iterate quickly, learn from feedback, and continuously improve
Progressively take on more challenging problems and greater ownership

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience with Python through internships, personal projects, coursework, or professional experience
Some hands-on experience with web scraping, automation, or data extraction
Interest in exploring and debugging web and/or mobile applications
Curiosity about HTTP, APIs, and backend communication
Self-learning mindset and willingness to tackle challenging technical problems
Strong interest in fintech, data, and financial inclusion
Ability to learn independently and handle unfamiliar technical challenges
Good written and spoken English; the team works 100% in English
Nice to have: experience with undocumented or partially documented third-party APIs
Nice to have: network debugging and traffic analysis
Nice to have: authentication and authorization mechanisms
Nice to have: web/mobile application security, encryption, and common security protocols
Nice to have: investigating web/mobile applications under the hood
