About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct Air Systems’ information system security engineering activities
- Capture and refine Aircraft System and Ground Support security requirements
- Integrate security requirements into Air System and ground support information systems through security architecting, design, development, and configuration
- Implement security requirements within the F-35 Air System, including the Air Vehicle and Ground Support information systems
- Ensure F-35 Air System systems are designed, developed, and implemented with required security features and safeguards
- Provide daily cybersecurity engineering support
- Oversee cybersecurity-related deliverables
- Verify POA&M resolution and continuous monitoring activities
- Ensure Security Authorization Packages are accurate, complete, and delivered to government oversight
- Witness dry-run compliance testing in preparation for Test Readiness Reviews
- Manage embedded resources and their level of effort
- Train and supplement other ISSE/IASAEs
- Provide counsel to DCI leadership
- Support Air System, Flight Test Systems, Program Office PMOs, and Functional Teams
- Interpret requirements into compliant security designs
- Develop Air System Cybersecurity Policies and Instructions for program-wide issuance by the F-35 CISO
- Provide engineering and architectural expertise for interoperability, security, and functional performance parameters
- Provide team leadership to other ISSE/IASAEs on the contract
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5 years of experience designing and developing organizational information systems
- 1+ years of practical airframe/weapon system security experience in secure network and system design, analysis, procedure/test generation, test execution and implementation of weapons system security mechanisms
- 5 years of experience in system security Assessment & Authorization (A&A)
- 5 years of experience in Vulnerability Assessment and/or Risk Analysis
- Experience upgrading legacy systems and implementing security controls within an information system
- Experience with software engineering methodologies, system/security engineering principles, secure design, secure architecture, and secure coding techniques
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- DoD Manual 8140 (612) – Security Control Assessor - Advanced
- Active Secret Security Clearance; TS/SCI preferred
- 10-25% travel
- MS/MA or BS/BA Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or an Information Technology
- Specific F-35 IT major defense acquisition systems experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis or through a combination of degree and experience in the same ratio
