About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide SME advice, guidance, support, and leadership in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental protection across the organisation and its supply chain
Create, implement, and develop arrangements for scalable Safety Management and Environmental Management Systems
Perform risk-based assurance activities
Lead and promote arrangements during ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 external certification and customer due diligence activities
Deliver agreed business improvement plans
Support engineering, design, and operational functions with best practice and industry expectations
Conduct specialist safety assessments such as HAZOPs and HAZIDs
Identify data requirements, establish collection arrangements, validate data, and present improvement actions
Respond to incidents, track trends and actions to closure, and conduct root-cause investigations
Support regulatory intervention sessions
Support development of a health and safety culture and drive HS&E excellence
Set and evaluate suppliers’ HS&E arrangements
Support current and future facilities and supply-chain partnerships

Requirements

What you’ll need

BPSS clearance
Satisfactory completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
Satisfactory completion of a basic financial probity check
Competency-based interview
May be asked to provide evidence of document management capability
Specialist safety assessment experience, including HAZOPs and HAZIDs
Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification processes
Ability to create, implement, and manage Health, Safety and Environmental arrangements
Ability to conduct risk-based assurance activities
Ability to investigate incidents and identify root causes
