About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide SME advice, guidance, support, and leadership in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental protection across the organisation and supply chain
Create, implement, and develop arrangements
Perform risk-based assurance activities to maintain suitable, scalable, and certified Safety Management and Environmental Management Systems
Lead and promote arrangements during ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 external certification and customer due diligence activities
Deliver agreed business improvement plans
Advise engineering, design, and operational functions on duties, best practice, and industry expectations
Conduct specialist safety assessments including HAZOPs and HAZIDs
Identify data requirements, establish collection arrangements, validate data, and present improvement actions
Respond to incidents, track incidents, trends, and actions to closure, and investigate root causes
Support regulatory intervention sessions
Support development of a health and safety culture and drive HS&E excellence
Set and evaluate suppliers’ HS&E arrangements
Support current and future facilities and the creation and management of the organisation’s supply chain
Work collaboratively with other functions and report via the HS&E Manager

Requirements

Provide evidence of document management capability if requested during selection
BPSS clearance required
Satisfactory completion of a DBS check required
Satisfactory completion of a basic financial probity check required
Around 75% of the criteria is sufficient to apply
