About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Complete rotational ‘gigs’ across Engineering, Technology and Safety and potentially Civil Aerospace, Defence, Defence Nuclear Submarines or Power Systems divisions
  • Gain experience across the engineering lifecycle, including mechanical systems, manufacturing, software and digital, electrical, materials and development
  • Work on projects involving nuclear power options, demonstrator engines, environmental performance, marine automation software and cyber-security
  • Complete digital learning, on-the-job training and practical development activities
  • Complete a ‘Design & Make’ project from design through manufacture
  • Gain hands-on practical experience in the workshop
  • Work with a dedicated career coach to create a personalised development plan
  • Attend a week’s residential course with Outward Bound
  • Support rotational assignments in Civil, Power or Defence functions according to business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A degree in any STEM subject, or joint honours degrees that combine STEM with subjects like business or economics
  • Strong passion for the future of technology
  • Willingness to work flexibly and travel between locations
  • Open-minded, curious and agile approach to work and career development
  • UK national or, in MoD-approved cases, dual national for Defence business areas
  • Security Check clearance required to work for Rolls-Royce Defence business areas; Rolls-Royce will support the application if needed
