About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work on varied engineering and technology projects across Rolls-Royce divisions
  • Gather experience across the engineering lifecycle, including mechanical systems, manufacturing, software and digital, electrical, materials and development
  • Support Civil, Power or Defence functions depending on business needs
  • Explore nuclear options for powering the UK’s fleet of naval submarines
  • Help develop next-generation demonstrator engines such as UltraFan and engines for the Global Combat Air Programme
  • Use data, technology and AI to improve environmental performance at power stations
  • Test marine automation software
  • Strengthen cyber-security
  • Participate in digital learning, on-the-job training and opportunities to bring ideas to life
  • Build a professional network across Rolls-Royce

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A degree in any STEM subject, or joint honours degrees that combine STEM with subjects like business or economics
  • Strong passion for the future of technology
  • Open-minded, curious and agile approach to work and career development
  • Must work on site, on average, a minimum of three days per week
  • Internship duration of 10 weeks over Summer 2026
