About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with stakeholders across delivery programmes and enabling functions across the Defence Nuclear Enterprise and industry
- Identify, analyse, and justify enterprise improvements across the submarine lifecycle from procurement to recycling
- Develop understanding of pan-CADMID requirements of the submarine enterprise
- Use data analytics and problem solving to analyse enterprise delivery programmes and enabling capabilities across Acquisition, In-Service, and Recycling portfolios
- Assess and diagnose enterprise health
- Assess options and address forecast shortfalls against future performance
- Engage with enterprise specialisms to develop options and recommendations for executive leadership boards
- Advance recommendations and improvements into formal change projects with project controls and sponsorship
- Support operation of industry and MOD executive leadership boards
- Inform and facilitate cross-enterprise strategic action across enabling functions and the submarine delivery portfolio
- Work closely with industrial partners engaged in submarine delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong stakeholder engagement/management and communication skills
- Ability to identify and engage relevant people for consultation
- Ability to translate complex information into clear briefs
- Operational autonomy and ability to progress workload independently
- Ability to synthesise information and define complex, open-ended objectives into actionable plans and scopes of work
- Experience in quality or reliability engineering practice and engineering problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis, is advantageous
- Ability to evaluate complex engineering issues and contributory factors across varied sources and prolonged timescales
- Experience developing new capabilities, processes, and/or implementing business change in technical areas is advantageous
- Knowledge/experience of working in the submarines support sector is a significant asset
- Must hold, or be eligible for employer-supported application for, Security Check clearance
- Must be a UK national or, in MoD-approved cases, a dual national
