About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop test documentation, including test plans, procedures, reports and automated test scripts
Develop test equipment solutions and conduct Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) level testing across functionality and environmental tests
Develop automated testing procedures for FPGA designs and support detailed integration testing against DOORS requirements
Conduct failure investigations and root cause analysis using structured problem-solving techniques
Ensure adherence to change control, configuration management and established development processes
Demonstrate solution correctness and traceability to design requirements
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing cost and timescales while improving quality
Support process and technical audits, product design reviews and verification activities
Liaise with software, systems, hardware, programmable hardware (FPGA) and safety teams to deliver integrated solutions
Integrate, verify and validate complex systems comprising software, FPGA and hardware components
Validate complex sub-systems and ensure timely delivery and quality of system integration, verification and validation artefacts

Requirements

What you’ll need

Qualified to degree level, in Software or Electronics Engineering, or related discipline
Experience with field-programmable gate arrays (FPGA)
Experienced in integrating complex electronic products, fault finding and diagnosis
Experienced in one of digital electronics design and verification, programmable logic device design and verification, software design and verification or real-time systems, and awareness of the others
Self-motivated and enthusiastic to become familiar with new techniques and tools
Awareness of safety-critical development constraints (e.g. IEC62566)
Experienced in timing analysis
Must hold Security Check clearance, or be supported in obtaining it
Must be a UK national or, in MoD-approved cases, a dual national
