About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Understand product degradation and failure mechanisms and their consequences
  • Develop deterministic or probabilistic/data mining models characterizing failure mechanisms
  • Assess new and derivative design solutions, product operation, and maintenance practices for safety and reliability impacts
  • Develop and deploy models at component, system, asset, and fleet levels
  • Support part/function classification activities
  • Support product development and new product introduction through Safety & Reliability Engineering analysis and documentation, including FHA, FMECA, and System Safety Assessment
  • Support FRACAS and Reliability Initiatives during development and in-service phases
  • Apply multi-domain engineering knowledge to detail failure mechanisms and system effects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Engineering with 1+ years of experience, OR Master’s of Science in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Engineering, OR PhD degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Engineering
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Multi-disciplinary collaboration skills, including facilitation and communication at the component, sub-system, and system level
  • Technical experience using Safety and/or Reliability engineering tools such as Weibull++, XFMEA, XFRACAS, @RISK, and Reliability Workbench
  • Ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking to technical problems
  • Technical experience deploying Safety and/or Reliability engineering tools and methods
  • Member of ASQ working toward Certified Reliability Engineer credentials
