About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform ultrasound diagnostic studies in accordance with accepted protocols
- Conduct a wide range of scans, primarily in emergency-room environments, including hospital and free-standing facilities
- Maintain a professional demeanor and respond promptly and professionally to work-related calls
- Contact the assigned facility with an estimated arrival time
- Arrive at the facility within the prescribed timeframe
- Follow prescribed safety standards when operating equipment
- Maintain work areas in compliance with client standards
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and files
- Document work processes as required
- Perform other assigned duties
- Assess patients, acquire images, prioritize examinations, and communicate with the care team
- Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and movement of extremities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 1 year of imaging experience post-graduation
- Current ARDMS-RDCS or CCI-RCS certification
- Valid Driver’s License
- BLS/CPR Certification
- Professionalism and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Pass all necessary health requirements for hospital employment, including drug screen and background check
- Comfort level with cardiac procedures
- Ability to use mobile phone devices and applications
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions
- Ability to act calmly and effectively in busy, stressful, or emergency situations
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone, and in writing
- Adherence to policies and procedures, including safety, attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance standards
- Ability to operate ultrasound equipment
- Ability to maintain quality control standards
- Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision
- Ability to multitask efficiently and effectively
- Ability to lift and move 30 pounds independently and assist with patient positioning, transfer, and mobility activities
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, reposition patients, lift and carry equipment, and push/pull medical equipment
- Continuous visual concentration and hand-eye coordination while operating equipment and monitoring ultrasound images
- Physical endurance to perform multiple examinations throughout the workday
