About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and complete daily procedures, including prioritizing operations, completing exams, and handling necessary paperwork
- Perform CT examinations and procedures requiring contrast agents
- Manage patients during complex procedure exams
- Use portable X-Ray machines and other X-Ray equipment
- Solve minor equipment problems for X-Ray and CT
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and employees
- Scan in and label documents appropriately
- Ensure images are released promptly to radiologists
- Follow radiation protection and dose reporting policies and processes
- Assist other technologists to maintain productivity
- Assist radiologists with imaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast when applicable
Requirements
What you’ll need- RT (R), (CT), (ARRT), and BLS certifications
- State licensure where necessary
- Ability to function as both a CT Technologist and X-Ray Technologist
- Ability to perform examinations of patients of all ages
- Ability to coordinate and complete daily procedures with minimal supervision and independent judgment
- Competency in PACS process
- Ability to perform daily QA process
- Effective communication skills
- Excellent patient care skills
- Proficiency with all technical equipment in the diagnostic modality
- Proper use of radiation protection and shielding materials in compliance with federal and state guidelines
- Up-to-date vaccinations as required for hospital employment
- Ability to pass required health screenings, drug screening, and background check
- Ability to lift 50–100 lbs
- Physical flexibility to bend, reach, twist, and adjust equipment or patients
- Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods
- Physical endurance to complete multiple consecutive scans
