About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Help patients improve mobility, manage pain, and regain functionality after injury, surgery, or illness
- Assess patients' conditions, range of motion, strength, and pain levels
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of strength, balance, coordination, posture, and muscle performance
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluations and clinical guidelines
- Administer manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy
- Educate patients and families on recovery, injury prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments, and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals
- Supervise and instruct physical therapy assistants or aides when applicable
- Ensure a safe and clean treatment environment
- Stay current with physical therapy practices, research, and innovations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Current and active license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state where the job is located
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation standards
- Over 1 year of experience in a clinical or hospital setting required
- Experience in orthopedic, neurologic, pediatric, geriatric, or sports therapy is a plus
- Must pass necessary health requirements for hospital employment, including drug screening and background check
- Experience in Neuro highly preferred
- Ability to perform frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and regularly push and pull
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating equipment
