About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead, direct, and manage consultants in transmission, substation, and distribution infrastructure design from concept through energization
- Identify risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Serve as a technical SME and shape design, project scope, schedules, and deliverables
- Lead internal and external teams across multiple engineering projects and drive decisions and outcomes
- Independently identify solutions to ambiguous, open-ended problems
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners and drive cross-team collaboration
- Partner with procurement to deliver required equipment
- Support RFPs for electrical infrastructure design and construction
- Review proposals for RFP conformance and clarify technical requirements
- Coordinate with utilities and serve as technical liaison between consultants and utilities
- Help establish engineering standards and processes as the company scales
- Build and maintain relationships with utilities and client technical experts
- Mentor the engineering team and support growth of collective expertise
- Support other technical tasks as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- 6+ years’ experience in design and delivery of transmission, substation and distribution infrastructure, or an applicable adjacent industry
- Experience delivering complex electrical projects through design, construction, commissioning, and operation
- Experience working with external stakeholders including AHJ’s and utilities
- Experience communicating with senior leaders and executives at all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of data center industry and trends
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, REVIT, GIS, and Bluebeam Revu
- Comfortable working independently
- Ability to travel up to 25% for company gatherings, factory witness testing, meetings, or project sites
