About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and empower the data center electrical design team in support of projects across the Rowan portfolio
- Lead hyperscale turnkey data center strategy, design, and deployment
- Lead the electrical design team and oversee delivery of data center electrical infrastructure
- Own data center electrical standardization at company and client levels
- Engage hyperscale clients to document technical requirements and communicate them to the Rowan design lead
- Serve as technical SME in commercial agreement negotiations for leases, service level agreements, and exhibits
- Lead internal and external teams to decisions and drive outcomes
- Lead, direct, and manage consultants across design, procurement, construction, and implementation
- Identify risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Shape design, project scope, schedule, and deliverables to meet client and Rowan requirements
- Partner with procurement to deliver required equipment
- Support RFPs for electrical infrastructure design, construction, and operations; review bids and clarify technical requirements
- Build and maintain relationships with utilities and client technical experts
- Mentor the engineering team and grow collective expertise
- Own team budget and goals, prioritize and delegate work, and hold the team accountable
- Support hiring activities and employee career development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- 10+ years’ overall experience with 5+ years’ of technical data center design and delivery experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Experience delivering complex electrical projects through design, construction, commissioning, and operation
- Experience working with external stakeholders including AHJ’s and utilities
- Experience communicating with senior leaders and executives at all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of data center industry and trends
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, and highly cross-functional environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience of proficiency in ETAP, MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, REVIT, GIS, and Bluebeam Revu
- Ability to travel up to (25%) for company gatherings, factory witness testing, meetings, or to project sites
