About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the full procurement cycle for construction equipment, from needs identification to order finalization and timely delivery
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and rental companies
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing
- Oversee equipment procurement budgets and align purchases with financial goals and schedules
- Track and analyze procurement costs and identify savings opportunities
- Research and evaluate suppliers for reliability, cost-effectiveness, and equipment quality
- Monitor vendor performance against service levels and timelines
- Ensure procurement activities comply with legal, safety, and environmental standards
- Maintain records of purchases, warranties, contracts, repairs, and vendor relationships
- Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, Engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Procurement on vendor selection
- Onboard qualified vendors and streamline MSA and PO delivery processes
- Support Power Systems equipment procurement for data center campus builds and help define modularization strategy
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven procurement experience in construction for a mid-to-large-scale general contractor or similar organization
- Background in data center development or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Experience managing sizable projects or a portfolio of multiple initiatives
- Proficiency in Procore (or Bluebeam) and other construction management software
- Working knowledge of green building practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Prior project management experience preferred
- 8+ years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or construction procurement experience preferred
- Familiarity with hyperscale data center procurement processes preferred
- Expertise in Critical Power Systems and Prefabricated Solutions preferred
- Expertise in managing Service Contracts with OEM suppliers preferred
- Up to 25% travel to project locations and manufacturing facilities
