About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical accounting and accounting support to business operations
Assess business processes and internal controls
Conduct advisory projects including organizational structure analysis, profit enhancement, cash management, and profitability analysis
Improve processes and document policies and procedures
Provide timely, high-quality client service
Coordinate development and execution of consulting work plans and client deliverables
Develop understanding of clients’ businesses, industries, performance drivers, trends, and developments
Participate on engagement teams and function as an in-charge and go-live lead
Facilitate fieldwork by monitoring and reporting productivity and adherence to work-plan schedules
Solve client and adoption challenges
Support execution and completion of client deliverables
Identify performance improvement opportunities
Work with RSM service lines to provide integrated service delivery
Identify opportunities to increase the level and types of services provided to clients

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 5+ years business experience or 5+ years in public accounting/consulting services
Advanced written and verbal communication skills
Strong internal control skills and experience developing and improving internal control systems
Strong technical and functional accounting experience in US GAAP and/or IFRS
Experience in financial reporting and hands-on support and research to solve technical accounting matters with AJE and reconciliations as needed
Proven ability to manage staff on projects of varying sizes
Demonstrated leadership experience
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with business associates and industry groups
Strong presentation, communication and rapport-building skills
Ability to travel approximately 75-80%
Experience working on project teams in accounting and finance optimization, audit readiness, complex accounting analysis and consultation, new accounting standard implementation, financial automation technologies, or consulting services to similar industries
BS/BA in Accounting or related working experience (preferred)
Experience and personality to diffuse difficult customer situations
Ability to function independently, prioritize, and mentor junior staff
CPA strongly preferred or related work experience
