About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide financial consulting services to gaming and hospitality clients
  • Deliver technical accounting and accounting support to business operations
  • Conduct business process improvement and internal controls assessments
  • Perform organizational structure analysis, profit enhancement, cash management and profitability analysis studies
  • Document process improvements, policies and procedures
  • Serve gaming entities across the country, including commercial gaming resorts, casinos and Indian gaming
  • Coordinate development and execution of consulting work plans and client deliverables
  • Develop understanding of clients’ businesses, industries, performance drivers, trends and developments
  • Participate on engagement teams as in-charge and go-live lead
  • Facilitate fieldwork by monitoring and reporting productivity and adherence to work-plan schedules
  • Solve client and adoption challenges
  • Support execution and completion of client deliverables
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities
  • Work with RSM service lines to provide integrated service delivery
  • Identify and inform management of opportunities to expand services to clients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS/BA in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 4+ years business experience or 4+ years in public accounting/consulting services
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong internal control skills and experience developing and improving internal control systems
  • Strong technical and functional accounting experience in US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Experience with financial reporting, hands-on support and research for technical accounting matters, AJE and reconciliations
  • Proven ability to manage staff on projects of varying sizes
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with business associates and industry groups
  • Strong presentation, communication and rapport-building skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 75–80%
  • Preferred: experience in accounting and finance optimization, audit readiness, complex accounting analysis, new accounting standard implementation, financial automation technologies and related consulting services
  • Preferred: ability to function independently, prioritize and mentor junior staff
  • CPA certification preferred
