About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review and assess data management processes, data processing solutions, and data consumption workflows
  • Evaluate data transformation and processing logic, including Python code
  • Review SQL queries, data models, and transformation processes supporting reporting and analytics
  • Assess database management systems and related data governance practices
  • Evaluate reporting and analytics platforms such as Alteryx
  • Review user access management and controls protecting data assets
  • Assess data lineage and trace data flows across processing, storage, reporting, and analytics environments
  • Support issue validation, remediation review, and control effectiveness testing
  • Document findings, observations, and recommendations according to project standards and methodologies
  • Support a large global financial services client through regulatory remediation validation and data governance improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in data risk, controls, compliance, validation, audit, consulting, or related functions
  • Experience supporting regulatory remediation, issue validation, consent order activities, or control assessment efforts preferred
  • Strong understanding of data management, data governance, reporting, and analytics processes
  • Working knowledge of Python, SQL, Alteryx, and database management systems
  • Experience reviewing and testing controls within complex data and reporting environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prepare clear and professional documentation
  • Ability to analyze technical processes and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience within banking or other highly regulated industries preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; RSM does not intend to hire entry-level candidates requiring current or future sponsorship
