About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead integration and/or separation efforts from planning through execution
  • Coordinate teams of professionals and services across RSM practices
  • Develop and grow client networks through business acumen, personal networks, and complex delivery skills
  • Manage relationships and supervise multiple engagements, including onsite client projects
  • Support the development of Deal Services and Integration and Separation Advisory services across the transaction lifecycle
  • Support the growth and maturation of a high-performing, diverse practice team
  • Evolve methodologies, tools, approaches, points of view, and thought leadership for the full-service M&A offering
  • Develop business through internal and external channels and sell services across diverse firm offerings
  • Develop and lead director- and manager-level engagement leaders
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external clients
  • Lead client workshops for private equity and strategic corporate buyers
  • Sell and structure pre-close planning, post-close planning, and Day 1 operational support engagements
  • Provide management advice across functional business areas based on engagement scope, industry, and transaction complexity
  • Direct TSA evaluation, identify deal-perimeter gaps, evaluate pricing, and structure TSA or reverse-TSA services
  • Plan to close operational gaps with new services, systems, people, processes, or contracts
  • Identify stranded costs and manage sell-side exit processes
  • Support synergy assessment and post-close synergy realization through value engineering, cost management, and growth opportunities
  • Support the sales cycle and manage engagements profitably
  • Develop and deliver annual firm- and practice-level strategy with ISA and Deal Services leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10-12+ years of M&A and/or experience focused on mergers, acquisitions, separations or value creation within a professional services firm environment
  • Broad expertise in middle market business, including private equity, privately held or publicly traded companies
  • Experience across a range of industries; industry alignment to private equity is a plus
  • Preferred experience in TMT, Life Sciences, financial services, healthcare, or other demonstrated industry depth
  • Strong understanding of complex program management and leadership
  • Ability to travel 3-4 days per week for 40-45 weeks of the year
  • Strong skills in process and operating model development
  • Strong financial capability to manage engagement financial outcomes
  • Strong communication, presentation, project management, and business skills
  • Strong writing, research, analytical, technical facilitation, and report writing skills
  • Strong self-motivation in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • MBA or Master’s in business or a technical field is a plus
  • Proven ability to hire, develop, grow, and lead professional teams
  • Exceptional executive presence and professionalism
