About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage multiple concurrent engagements within the Accounting and Finance Consulting practice
- Provide technical accounting and financial or business advisory guidance to clients
- Coordinate consulting work plans and client deliverables
- Collaborate with firm specialists and subject-matter experts on complex accounting matters
- Prepare technical memos and other client deliverables
- Supervise Audit Seniors and Supervisors on engagement teams
- Oversee engagement economics and manage resources for efficient engagement models
- Anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues
- Identify performance improvement opportunities
- Deliver integrated services across RSM service lines
- Mentor, train, and advise team members on career development
- Discuss opportunities for valuable introductions to other RSM services
- Develop external relationships to support business growth
- Read industry publications and share relevant information with clients
- Maintain professional development through ongoing education
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
- 4+ years of current or recent experience in a public accounting, financial reporting or technical accounting capacity
- Excellent team and project management skills
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of audit services with knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and FASB regulations
- Proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships
- Experience managing project teams in accounting and finance optimization, audit readiness, complex accounting analysis and consultation, or new accounting standard implementation
- Successful record of directing and deploying staff and senior associates on multiple, simultaneous engagements
- CPA or equivalent certification
- Minimum of 4 years of team lead or in-charge experience overseeing staff on multiple engagements
- Willingness to travel 25% of the year, potentially up to 50% depending on client needs
- Must not require sponsorship now or in the future for entry-level hiring; F-1 visa holders are excluded from entry-level sponsorship
