About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and manage accounting project teams, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes
Develop and implement strategic process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
Serve as the primary point of contact for client engagements and ensure client satisfaction
Support the AFC team on various accounting projects
Supervise the full accounting cycle, including journal entries, data validation, and balance sheet account reconciliations
Prepare and analyze financial reports
Apply debits and credits and post journal entries accurately to maintain the general ledger
Execute and oversee the month-end close process
Review and analyze financial statements
Supervise, perform, and review balance sheet reconciliations
Oversee payroll accounting and related monthly reconciliations
Analyze financial data and create detailed financial reports using Microsoft Excel
Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff
Ensure compliance with regulations and internal controls in collaboration with auditing services
Establish and maintain accounting systems
Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting processes

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
5+ years of experience in a hands-on role involving full cycle accounting with solid experience in financial reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software packages
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the year, depending on client needs
CPA or equivalent certification preferred
Experience with systems implementation and process improvement preferred
Must not require sponsorship now or in the future for entry-level hiring; F-1 visa holders are excluded from entry-level hiring
