About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain account plans for assigned Canadian key accounts
  • Establish account objectives, governance, meeting cadence and progress measures with client service leaders
  • Lead internal account reviews with assurance, tax, consulting and industry specialists
  • Coordinate national and cross-border resources while maintaining Canadian relationship ownership
  • Build trusted relationships with executives and key stakeholders across functions, business units and Canadian locations
  • Maintain client-contact cadence, including executive check-ins and structured business reviews
  • Anticipate renewal, satisfaction and service concerns and coordinate interventions
  • Promote client advocacy, referrals and thought-leadership participation
  • Identify, qualify and advance opportunities within existing accounts across RSM Canada services
  • Create client-specific value propositions and coordinate discovery, solution design, proposals and executive presentations
  • Maintain an opportunity pipeline and communicate forecasts, dependencies, risks and next actions
  • Bring Canadian economic, operational, tax, regulatory, technology and workforce insights into client conversations
  • Engage Canadian industry leaders to validate account hypotheses and shape sector-relevant solutions
  • Create account-team roles, communication protocols and follow-up accountability
  • Facilitate preparation for significant client interactions and ensure client context and objectives are understood
  • Monitor commitments, client feedback and service outcomes, escalating material concerns
  • Maintain accurate CRM records for contacts, relationship activity, account plans, opportunities and forecasts
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly portfolio updates covering retention, relationship health, pipeline movement, wins, risks and leadership support
  • Assess progress using retention, revenue growth, relationship depth, cross-service participation, forecast quality and client feedback measures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, marketing or a related discipline OR progressive relevant past sales experience
  • 7+ years of progressive strategic account management, client development or consultative sales experience in professional services, accounting, consulting or complex business-to-business services
  • Experience managing and growing existing enterprise or middle-market client relationships across multiple industries
  • Experience building executive relationships, coordinating matrixed teams and advancing complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities
  • Working knowledge of a broad professional-services portfolio, including assurance, tax and consulting
  • Strategic account planning, opportunity qualification, relationship mapping, pipeline management and forecasting capabilities
  • Executive-level communication, facilitation, presentation, negotiation and business-writing skills in English
  • Proficiency with CRM, Microsoft 365 and business intelligence tools
  • Ability to understand Canadian market and sector developments and translate them into relevant client conversations
  • Experience working with Canadian organizations and business issues is preferred
  • Experience supporting clients with cross-border or multinational operations is preferred
  • Experience with private and/or public company clients is preferred
  • French-language capability is an asset where relevant to the portfolio
