About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze existing database architecture, decipher complex logic, and assess current data models
Partner with business stakeholders and product owners to translate requirements into scalable database solutions
Design and develop data models, schemas, and database objects
Build and optimize tables, stored procedures, and controls for data integrity, performance, and auditability
Implement data governance controls and ensure regulatory and internal security compliance
Support iterative development and refine database structures as requirements evolve
Guide and mentor team members on data modeling best practices
Collaborate cross-functionally in an Agile environment using Jira and Confluence
Lead a critical initiative to redesign and modernize a legacy system for a financial services client
Deliver robust, auditable, and secure data structures aligned with business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
8–10 years of experience in SQL Server development/DBA, data modeling, and large-scale database environments
Financial services experience preferred
Expertise in data migration, ETL processes, and integration tools such as SSIS
Expertise in data analysis, data quality, and data modeling
Expertise writing and optimizing complex stored procedures (SPROCs)
SQL database testing and automation techniques
Experience developing high-performance, auditable database solutions
Experience implementing data controls, security, and regulatory compliance standards
Preferred: experience with SSRS and Tableau
Preferred: exposure to Snowflake and Databricks
Preferred: familiarity with .NET, C#, ASP.NET, and Web API
Preferred: experience working within DevSecOps frameworks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to manage competing priorities
Experience in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Collaborative mindset with Agile team experience
