Key responsibilities & impact
  • Fill resource engagement requests and oversee resource utilization
  • Align resources with strategic plans and analyze operational results
  • Promote staff development for the supported line of business or service line/solution set
  • Provide information for short-term and strategic planning
  • Implement strategies to increase capability specialization and achieve business goals
  • Serve as a point of contact for supported resources, mediate conflicts and resolve resource needs
  • Promote and monitor resource sharing across the resource management team
  • Communicate with management about future needs, availability and potential staffing issues
  • Assist with scheduling processes and engagement management
  • Collaborate with leaders and client engagement teams to understand business needs and drive consistency
  • Generate scheduling, utilization and forecasting reports and analyze data for staffing decisions
  • Identify workload trends and provide financial, profitability and exception reporting
  • Monitor productivity, conflicts, leverage, availability, travel and non-charge hours
  • Review schedules and facilitate adjustments to align resources with experience, industry, account priorities, technical expertise and geography
  • Implement firm-wide programs such as rotations and global assignments
  • Facilitate scheduling meetings, recommend solutions and enforce best practices
  • Follow up on unresolved issues requiring project or staff rescheduling
  • Administer scheduling system and process assimilation and orientation programs for new hires
  • Proof, edit and verify scheduling and reporting information
  • Maintain communication with internal clients as a trusted advisor
  • Provide utilization input to People Advisors and participate in talent development meetings
  • Share and develop best practices and stay current on scheduling technology and market trends

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree or 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
  • 3-5 years experience as a resource management professional in a professional services firm — strongly preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel
  • Experience working within a resource scheduling or workforce allocation tool; preferred experience with Dayshape
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective organization and time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to respond positively to changing circumstances and implement change
  • Ability to operate with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to facilitate collaborative discussions regarding resource assignment, utilization and gap analysis
  • Ability to drive collaboration and communication between teams
  • Process-driven ability to train, drive and develop processes
  • Resource Management Certified Professional (RMCP®) preferred
  • Project Management certification such as Lean Six Sigma or PMP preferred
  • Previous experience working within accounting professional services preferred
  • Candidates must not require sponsorship now or in the future for entry-level hiring; F-1 visa holders are excluded from entry-level sponsorship
