About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver due diligence and tax structuring services as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Communicate findings and opportunities to clients
  • Assist senior M&A Tax practice members with technical tax issues involving consolidated returns, S Corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies
  • Assist clients with reorganizations, bankruptcy emergence planning, out-of-court workouts, debt restructurings, tax basis, Earnings and Profits, and Section 382 studies
  • Manage multiple engagements simultaneously
  • Work with M&A colleagues across the enterprise
  • Develop, motivate, and train staff and senior-level team members
  • Identify, sell, and deliver tax services to middle-market clients

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited university
  • One of the following required: active CPA license in the state of residence or primary office, active Enrolled Agent (EA) license, or active Attorney license
  • Minimum of eight years of tax experience in public accounting
  • Ability to identify, sell, and deliver tax services to middle-market clients
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to meet client service, quality, and performance expectations within applicable deadlines and firm and client standards
  • Clear, professional, and effective communication with firm personnel and clients in person, by telephone, and through electronic and written means
  • Effective project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively in a professional office environment and at client sites
  • Ability to maintain a consistent onsite presence during core business hours, regularly report to a firm office location, and travel to client sites as required
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work extended and/or non-standard hours during peak periods or as necessary
  • Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters across various industries (preferred)
  • Master’s degree in Taxation (preferred)
