About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a senior tax client service leader, relationship owner, or capability leader for complex client needs and firm priorities
- Advise single-family, multi-family, and virtual-family office clients and multi-generational families on structuring, modeling, succession planning, wealth transfer planning, and tax compliance
- Lead teams delivering tax services across capabilities, industries, geographies, and specialists
- Manage engagement teams focused on entity, individual, fiduciary, and gift/estate taxation
- Plan and execute client tax engagements
- Manage multiple engagements or client portfolios, monitoring status, resources, economics, quality, and client service expectations
- Identify technical tax matters and client opportunities and guide teams through complex issues
- Maintain client relationships, understand goals, anticipate needs, and connect clients with firm expertise
- Support growth through pipeline development, client transfers, cross-firm collaboration, referral networks, and market-facing activity
- Manage profitability, billing, collections, engagement economics, and operational discipline
- Apply quality, risk, independence, ethics, and professional judgment
- Use digital tools, standardized processes, and global workforce capabilities to improve efficiency and client experience
- Coach and develop high-performing teams and future leaders
- Align decisions with long-term firm value, cultural stewardship, and client outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university
- Active CPA license or equivalent professional credential in the state of residence or primary office
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of Tax experience in public accounting
- Ability to effectively identify, sell and deliver tax services to middle-market clients
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to meet client service, quality, and performance expectations within applicable deadlines
- Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with firm personnel and clients in person, by telephone, and through electronic or written means
- Effective project management skills, including managing multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively in a professional office environment and at client sites as required
- Ability to maintain consistent, onsite presence during core business hours
- Ability to regularly report to a firm office location and travel to client sites as required
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work extended and/or non-standard hours during peak periods or as necessary
- Preferred: Experience serving family enterprises, family offices, or multi-family offices
- Preferred: Expertise in partnership taxation, flow-through entities, trusts and estates, fiduciary taxation, estate and gift tax, or complex family office structures
- Preferred: Experience advising on governance, succession planning, family office operations, multigenerational wealth transfer, and business transition strategies
- Preferred: Business development and relationship-expansion experience
- Preferred: Sophisticated tax planning and advisory experience for closely held businesses and family-owned enterprises
- Preferred: Understanding of global tax issues and cross-border planning
- Preferred: Experience with a Big Four, national accounting firm, family office, private wealth advisory firm, or wealth management organization
