About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a senior tax client service leader, relationship owner, or capability leader for complex client needs and firm priorities
  • Advise ultra-high-net-worth clients on individual, trust and entity income tax planning and compliance, wealth transfer, and charitable and retirement planning
  • Lead teams delivering tax services across capabilities, industries, geographies, and specialists
  • Ensure consistency in tax preparation due to the complexities of fund reporting
  • Manage multiple engagements or client portfolios, including status, resources, economics, quality, and client service expectations
  • Identify technical tax matters and client opportunities early and guide teams through complex issues
  • Maintain client relationships, understand goals, anticipate needs, and connect clients with firm expertise
  • Support growth through pipeline development, client transfers, cross-firm collaboration, referral networks, and market-facing activity
  • Manage profitability, billing, collections, engagement economics, and operational discipline
  • Apply quality, risk, independence, ethics, and professional judgment to client and team activities
  • Use digital tools, standardized processes, and global workforce capabilities to improve consistency, efficiency, and client experience
  • Coach and develop high-performing teams and future leaders
  • Lead with an enterprise mindset aligned to long-term firm value, cultural stewardship, and client outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university
  • Active CPA license or equivalent professional credential in the state of residence or primary office
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of Tax experience in public accounting
  • Ability to identify, sell and deliver tax services to middle-market clients
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to meet client service, quality, and performance expectations within applicable deadlines
  • Clear, professional, and effective communication with firm personnel and clients
  • Effective project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a professional office environment and, as required, at client sites
  • Ability to maintain consistent, onsite presence during core business hours
  • Ability to regularly report to a firm office location and travel to client sites
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work extended and/or non-standard hours during peak periods or as necessary
  • Preferred: JD in Taxation and/or Master's in Taxation
  • Preferred: Experience working for a Big 4 or large national accounting firm
  • Preferred: Real estate industry expertise, including management companies, joint ventures, family partnerships, individuals, trusts, and other owners or operators
  • Preferred: Knowledge of partnership and S Corporation tax structures
  • Preferred: Experience with fiduciary, gift and estate taxation
  • Tax M&A knowledge is a plus
  • Proven ability to develop new business relationships and expand services to existing clients
