About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead client service, growth, specialist, or leadership responsibilities for the Tax line of business
- Advise ultra high net worth clients on individual, trust, and entity income tax planning and compliance, wealth transfer, charitable, and retirement planning
- Serve as a senior tax client service leader, relationship owner, or capability leader for complex client needs
- Lead teams delivering integrated tax services across capabilities, industries, geographies, and specialists
- Plan and execute client tax engagements focused on individual, fiduciary, gift, generation-skipping, and estate taxation
- Manage multiple engagements or client portfolios, including status, resources, economics, quality, and client service expectations
- Identify technical tax matters and client opportunities, consult specialists, and guide teams through complex issues
- Maintain client relationships, understand goals, anticipate needs, and connect clients with firm expertise
- Support growth through pipeline development, client transfers, cross-firm collaboration, referral networks, and market-facing activity
- Manage profitability, billing, collections, engagement economics, and operational discipline
- Apply quality, risk, independence, ethics, and professional judgment
- Use digital tools, standardized processes, and global workforce capabilities to improve efficiency and client experience
- Coach and develop high-performing teams and future leaders
- Lead with an enterprise mindset focused on long-term firm value, culture, and client outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university
- Active CPA license or equivalent professional credential in the state of residence or primary office
- Minimum of 12 years of Tax experience in public accounting
- Ability to identify, sell, and deliver tax services to middle-market clients
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to meet client service, quality, and performance expectations within applicable deadlines
- Clear, professional, and effective communication with firm personnel and clients
- Effective project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work in a professional office environment and at client sites
- Consistent onsite presence during core business hours; regular reporting to a firm office and travel to client sites
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work extended and/or non-standard hours during peak periods
- JD in Taxation and/or Master's in Taxation (preferred)
- Experience working for a Big 4 or large national accounting firm (preferred)
- Expertise in individual tax planning and advisory services (preferred)
- Experience working with Private Foundations (preferred)
- Exposure to reporting and filings related to foreign assets, investments, and holdings (preferred)
- Proven ability to develop new business relationships and expand services to existing clients (preferred)
