About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a Career Advisor, mentor, or coach to employees and provide performance feedback
  • Drive growth and profitability by generating new revenue, cross-selling, and acquiring new clients
  • Interact directly with clients on questions, planning, and consulting
  • Train and develop staff members
  • Work on multiple complex issues and communicate technical matters in a non-technical manner
  • Lead and manage complex engagement business relationships
  • Expand services to clients
  • Serve as Tax client service coordinator and execute the firm’s client service plan
  • Review research findings for consistency with firm policies and professional standards
  • Build relationships across lines of business for integrated client service
  • Manage corporate client tax service needs and federal and state tax compliance
  • Stay current on tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Travel may be required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting or related field
  • Active CPA license in the state of residence, active Enrolled Agent (EA) license, active Attorney license, or pre-approved alternative certification meeting RSM requirements
  • 8 or more years of public accounting experience working with C Corp clients or equivalent in law firms or industry
  • Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740
  • Proven record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients
  • Ability to support financial growth efforts and manage a book of business
  • Ability to generate new business and extend service opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management and critical thinking skills
  • Experience dealing with international tax matters is a plus
  • Fluency in French, German, Japanese, or Mandarin is preferred
  • Proven track record of managing relationships with large non-US companies with significant operations in North America
