About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver due diligence and tax structuring services as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Communicate findings and opportunities to clients
- Assist senior M&A Tax team members with technical tax issues involving consolidated returns, S Corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies
- Advise clients on reorganizations, bankruptcy emergence planning, out-of-court workouts, debt restructurings, tax basis, Earnings and Profits, and Section 382 studies
- Manage multiple engagements simultaneously and collaborate with M&A colleagues across the enterprise
- Develop, motivate, and train staff and senior-level team members
- Identify, sell, and deliver tax services to middle-market clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited university
- One of the following is required: an active CPA license in the state of residence; an active Enrolled Agent (EA) license; or an active Attorney license
- Minimum of eight years of tax experience in public accounting
- Ability to identify, sell, and deliver tax services to middle-market clients
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to meet client service, quality, and performance expectations within applicable deadlines and firm/client standards
- Clear, professional, and effective communication with firm personnel and clients in person, by telephone, and through electronic and written means
- Effective project management skills, including managing multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively in a professional office environment and at client sites
- Ability to maintain a consistent onsite presence during core business hours, regularly report to a firm office, and travel to client sites as required
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work extended and/or non-standard hours during peak periods or as necessary
- Preferred: knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters across various industries
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Taxation
