About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform proactive, ongoing technical and process audits of engineering projects using objective criteria and known best practices
  • Analyze, identify, and promote adoption of quality metrics to find trends and systemic issues
  • Provide hardware engineering teams guidance on process and regulatory requirements
  • Work with engineering design and development teams throughout the ASIC/FPGA product development lifecycle
  • Provide quality-focused technical and process oversight of avionics ASIC/FPGA engineering development
  • Establish rapport and credibility with leadership, engineering teams, shared service teams, and customers
  • Foster a culture of quality processes and products

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Hands-on engineering experience executing DO-254 or equivalent structured hardware development processes across the full lifecycle
  • Direct experience developing, reviewing, or verifying ASIC and/or FPGA designs
  • Experience with requirements capture, architecture definition, HDL development, and test artifact creation
  • Experience preparing, managing, and maintaining hardware lifecycle documentation required for certification, such as PHAC, HAD, HVVR, and traceability data
  • Experience using formal configuration management and change control systems for electronic hardware development
  • Experience conducting structured peer reviews for hardware design, requirements, and verification artifacts
  • Experience using industry-standard design, simulation, and verification tools for ASIC/FPGA development, including HDL simulation, static analysis, linting, and requirements management
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Knowledge of effective Design Quality Assurance principles preferred
  • Knowledge of FAA Regulatory Requirements and/or experience in civil certification focal roles preferred
  • Knowledge of CMMI preferred
  • Experience in an AGILE development environment preferred
