About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive strategy, governance, and optimization across Workday HCM Core and Security
  • Oversee configuration, administration, and continuous improvement of foundational HCM capabilities
  • Own and evolve the Workday security governance model
  • Partner on Workday HCM foundational structures and hire-to-retire business processes
  • Design and enforce Workday security policies and protocols
  • Oversee core HCM processes, personal data, and cross-functional or tenant-wide Workday changes
  • Lead long-term planning, roadmap development, prioritization, and risk mitigation
  • Partner with HR, Global Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, Audit, Legal, and Compliance teams
  • Own enterprise-wide Workday security model design, including role strategy, segregation of duties, least-privilege access, and sensitive-data protection
  • Lead relationships with internal stakeholders and Workday support partners
  • Guide and approve security changes
  • Provide leadership for foundational data structures and business process frameworks
  • Assess process improvements, new Workday features, automation, and workflow redesign
  • Ensure controls and documentation for business processes and sensitive-data access
  • Lead the biannual Workday release cycle, including impact evaluation, testing readiness, stakeholder engagement, and configuration-update decisions
  • Lead and mentor the Workday functional team
  • Oversee workload prioritization, capacity management, and capability building
  • Serve as escalation tier for complex HCM and Security issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 12+ years of related experience
  • 10 years of Workday leadership experience within HCM and/or Security
  • Proven ownership of Workday security architecture and HCM foundational design
  • Experience working with cross-functional influence
  • Deep understanding of HR operations, data governance, regulatory requirements, and enterprise security models
  • Strong stakeholder management, executive communication, and leadership capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional HR/IT transformation or system governance programs
  • Workday Pro accreditation or certifications preferred
  • Background in strategic workforce or job architecture initiatives preferred
  • U.S. citizenship is required
