About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage supplier quality performance through prevention, monitoring/escalation, and nonconforming-material submission processes
  • Manage and support supplier onboarding and qualification/certification
  • Manage source inspection and material release processes
  • Perform escape management, drive root-cause analysis and problem solving, and recommend corrective and preventive actions
  • Support RTX supplier programs for continuous improvement and sustainability
  • Analyze quality data to identify systemic issues and develop supplier-specific quality initiative strategies
  • Implement PFMEA, MSA, process flow and control plans, SPC, and other proactive quality tools
  • Ensure suppliers meet contract requirements, including Resourcing Gate, PPAP acceptance, and work-transfer implementation
  • Own execution of Supplier Quality & Development operational plans
  • Lead a team of experienced Supplier Quality & Development professionals and set tactical and operational plans
  • Own execution of long-term Supplier Quality & Development strategy and operational direction
  • Drive supplier qualification, certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution
  • Lead supplier quality activities involving raw-material assessments, contracted manufactured items, materials packaging, GMP, and procurement practices
  • Lead supplier corrective actions and direct teams responsible for work transfer and process change management
  • Establish performance management supporting business objectives and deliverables through transparent status and risk visualization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee or asylee status
  • 5+ years of experience combined in aerospace supplier quality or aerospace quality
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in metallurgy, forgings, and metallic raw materials, including metallic testing (MTL), heat treatment, NDT, and surface treatments
  • Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization and external suppliers
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time, domestically and internationally
  • Certifications in metallic testing (MTL), heat treatment, NDT, and surface treatments preferred
  • Knowledge of business context and major customer challenges preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, or similar field preferred
  • Knowledge of quality regulations, quality core tools, APQP, practical problem solving, international management system standards, authorities/regulations/standards, QMS, auditing/assessing, risk management, and continuous improvement/Lean Six Sigma preferred
