About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a team and own execution of long-term strategy and operational direction for a business of modest size and scope
  • Manage experienced Supplier Quality & Development professionals
  • Own supplier qualification, certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes
  • Manage supplier quality performance, prevention, monitoring/escalation, and nonconforming material submissions
  • Manage or support supplier onboarding and qualification/certification
  • Manage source inspection and material release processes
  • Drive root cause analysis, problem solving, and corrective and preventive actions
  • Analyze quality data to identify systemic issues and develop supplier-specific quality initiative strategies
  • Drive implementation of PFMEA, MSA, process flow and control plans, and SPC
  • Ensure suppliers meet contract requirements, including Resourcing Gate, PPAP acceptance, and work transfer implementation
  • Lead supplier quality activities involving raw material assessments, contracted manufactured items, and materials packaging
  • Ensure service providers and laboratories employ good manufacturing practices and procurement practices meet requirements
  • Establish performance management that tracks business objectives, deliverables, status, and risks
  • Lead corrective action with suppliers and direct teams responsible for work transfer and process change management
  • Communicate and influence executive leadership and external suppliers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status
  • 5+ years of combined experience in aerospace supplier quality or aerospace quality
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in metallurgy, forgings, and metallic raw materials
  • Experience with metallic testing (MTL), heat treatment, NDT, and surface treatments
  • Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organization and external suppliers
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally
