About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, engineer, and optimize distribution center sites to support demand, throughput, storage, and service requirements
- Design and execute warehouse automation initiatives with business owners
- Serve as subject matter expert for distribution automation solutions with third-party providers
- Drive innovative solutions on the warehouse floor
- Create standards for automation solutions servicing storage, throughput, and layout governance
- Perform facility capacity modeling and flow simulations
- Design slotting, pick-path, racking, and storage solutions with third-party warehouse operators and insource sites
- Evaluate emerging logistics technologies and automation options, including AS/RS, AMRs, conveyors, and goods-to-person systems
- Develop and implement technology and automation plans for distribution sites
- Collaborate with RTX systems and data teams to integrate best practices into WMS and S4 designs during the RTX Logistics operating system transformation
- Support network design models by building distribution center expansion, relocation, and consolidation plans
- Partner with Strategic Sourcing, Operations, Real Estate, and business operations teams
- Develop capital investment proposals and ROI analyses
- Influence and drive change across multiple businesses, functions, and geographies
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of logistics and sourcing professionals across multiple business units
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Serve as liaison between logistics, supply chain, finance, and executive leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience, or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
- 10+ years of experience in warehousing planning and operation, automation selection and implementation, logistics integrator or related roles within the aerospace or manufacturing industry
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
- Experience managing cross-functional and cross-business unit teams
- Change management experience
- Operational experience in multi-site warehouse and distribution management
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Expertise in facility layout, industrial engineering, and warehousing
- Hands-on knowledge of WMS, MHE, and automation solutions
- Industrial Engineering and Scenario Planning in supply chain environments
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills including developing business cases
- Project management, change management and transition management abilities
