About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute structural analysis via hand calculations, 2D and 3D finite element modeling, using P&W Engineering Standard Work, analytical tools, and engineering judgment
  • Perform structural analysis and provide analytical support through all design phases
  • Support manufacturing and operational services
  • Conduct strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, residual life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematic, and optimization analyses
  • Support production and in-service field investigations
  • Document analyses and present results and recommendations to integrated product teams, management, and customers
  • Participate in multidisciplinary integrated product teams as the structures focal
  • Provide design solutions balancing customer requirements for performance, cost, schedule, and other requirements
  • Work within Compression Systems Engineering, responsible for fans and low- and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment
  • Relocation is not offered
  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
  • Preferred: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred: Consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative
  • Preferred: Passion for learning about and pursuing a career in aviation and aerospace
  • Preferred: Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability
