About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide expert guidance on export regulatory requirements and Customs compliance
  • Serve as a key point of contact for team questions and resolve export issues and compliance concerns
  • Collaborate with the Export Operations Manager to align team efforts with organizational priorities
  • Coordinate communication between the Export Advisor team and Global Trade, Shipping, Receiving, International Logistics, Customs Brokers, and Freight Forwarders
  • Review and validate shipment data including valuation, country of origin, and product classifications
  • Monitor team performance and identify export declaration workflow improvements through process enhancements and tool updates
  • Support customer engagements through clear communication and thorough documentation
  • Promote compliance, quality, and continuous improvement alongside the Export Operations Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience handling transitional audits and traditional customs audit frameworks
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP-based systems
  • Experience working with U.S. Customs regulations and domestic and international import/export trade requirements
  • Experience interpreting requirements and ensuring compliance
  • Experience handling Classified shipments, Transportation Plans, and/or NOCs
  • Experience with ITCS and RGEMS preferred
  • Experience working in the Defense industry preferred
  • Experience collaborating with geographically dispersed or remote teams using virtual communication and collaboration tools preferred
  • Experience identifying discrepancies, researching root causes, implementing corrective actions, and recommending process improvements preferred
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) and/or Certified Export Specialist (CES) certifications preferred
  • Experience with ABI, ACE, DDTC, HTS, export/import valuation, Other Government Agency requirements, CBP processes, and U.S. Government export regulations related to compliant export declaration filings (EEI filings) preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines by organizing workload, tracking deliverables, and completing time-sensitive activities within established requirements preferred
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Eligible candidates must reside within commuting distance of Richardson, TX, Farmington, CT, Cedar Rapids, IA, Andover, MA, McKinney, TX or Tucson, AZ
