About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and direct a team of experienced systems developers
  • Set short-term objectives and guide execution approaches for secure, automated, cyber-compliant systems solutions
  • Contribute to solution design, requirements analysis, and technical development for multiple program environments
  • Execute operational plans supporting SMS and Digital Technology priorities
  • Provide measurable inputs into new processes, standards, and improvements
  • Oversee solution architectures, technical documentation, system requirements, and workflows
  • Drive standardization strategies involving automation, configuration management, orchestration, and policy-driven compliance tooling
  • Collaborate with Digital Technology, GSS Cyber, product teams, and enterprise partners on compliance decisions, RMF/NIST control implementation, and technical direction
  • Influence stakeholder understanding of secure system implementation policies, practices, and procedures
  • Lead improvements to systems, infrastructures, tools, and design processes
  • Address complex problems across sites, programs, or geographies
  • Provide technical consulting on adjacent systems and business operations
  • Manage staffing, hiring, development, performance reviews, and rewards decisions
  • Mentor technical contributors and strengthen succession pipelines
  • Communicate operational status, objectives, and risks to leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experience
  • Experience leading intermediate or experienced technical professionals
  • Experience in systems design, IT infrastructures, cyber compliance, automation, and/or secure integration
  • Experience with U.S. Government cybersecurity standards and compliance programs, including RMF and NIST 800-53
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Experience influencing policies, practices, or procedures across a work area or multiple teams
  • Ability to solve difficult technical problems involving multiple variables and broader impacts
  • Knowledge of performance improvement, process standardization, and execution in technical environments
  • Experience leading distributed teams using collaborative platforms and shared infrastructures
  • Ability to develop and manage high-performing teams
  • Experience communicating with senior leadership
  • Experience contributing to infrastructure design changes and integration across multiple locations
  • Understanding of systems engineering development lifecycles and architectural frameworks
  • Familiarity with agile or hybrid development approaches
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ansible, and Bash automation and scripting
  • Understanding of cybersecurity controls, segmentation, encryption, secure transfer mechanisms, and system hardening
  • Knowledge of risk and opportunity management and practical execution principles within technical programs
  • Ability to commute regularly to one of the listed locations
