About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform circuit design lifecycle activities, including requirements capture, schematic capture, design documentation, performance, stability, ESD/Lightning, decoupling, and signal/power integrity analysis
- Create board stack-ups and routing instructions
- Coordinate and review printed wiring board layouts
- Create test plans, perform root cause analysis, and support integration
- Design, develop, and integrate Collins products within communication systems and test solutions
- Develop engineering and production test systems, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, circuit designs, and analyses
- Contribute to all stages of communication system and test system development
- Assist with technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to develop hardware designs meeting system performance and operational specifications
- Learn about RTX’s engineering team, technologies, aerospace operations, and work practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in electrical engineering
- U.S. citizenship required
- Must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment
- Relocation is not offered
- English (read, write, speak) required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
- Background knowledge or initiated experience in electronic circuit and hardware development, including digital/analog electronics, schematic capture, hardware integration, and hands-on testing and troubleshooting of circuit card assemblies (preferred)
- Background knowledge or initiated experience in Radio Frequency (RF) testing, schematic capture, circuit design, and hardware selection and integration (preferred)
- Experience with engineering tools and test equipment, including logic analyzers, JTAG, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, RF spectrum analyzers, RF network analyzers, RF power meters, RF switches, oscilloscopes, and ECAD/PCB design tools (preferred)
- Theoretical knowledge of signal integrity and timing analysis, FPGA/SoC design and testing, and Agile development environments such as Jira (preferred)
- Background knowledge or initiated experience designing and developing electrical and electronic circuits and systems for communication systems (preferred)
