About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Turbine Airfoil Casting Team within the Hot Section Module Center in improving supplier quality
  • Provide quality interface, expertise, and support to suppliers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with supplier Quality and Operations Management teams and internal engineering, procurement, and support organizations
  • Resolve production challenges in a fast-paced environment
  • Help suppliers meet P&W quality requirements and achieve best-in-class quality, delivery, and service
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and proactive quality initiatives
  • Conduct supplier Vendor Corrective Action Boards and domestic and international Supplier Wellness Assessments
  • Analyze data in PW QLIK dashboards and SAP to implement supplier process and design changes
  • Support Escape Management investigations in Quality Clinic
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce escapes, cost, and lead time
  • Hold suppliers accountable for root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
  • Present supplier improvement information to cross-functional leadership teams
  • Mentor and coach junior Supplier Quality Engineers
  • Serve as a go-to resource for team assistance and issue navigation
  • Evaluate best-practice solutions, create guidance documents, and train broader SQE and Quality Clinic teams
  • Support initiatives affecting the SQE role and cross-pollination of product center teams
  • Provide SQE input for CORE events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Advanced degree and 5+ years of experience in Quality, Engineering, Operations or Supply Chain in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Defense, Automotive or another heavily regulated industry; OR Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience; OR High School Diploma or specialized Technical or Military training and 12+ years of relevant industry experience
  • University degree ideally in Engineering; Mechanical or Quality Engineering preferred
  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE) or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with PPAP and FAI processes, inspection tools/equipment, and Quality Management Systems such as AS9100
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings/blueprints and familiarity with GD&T
  • Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney shop practices, processes, quality standards, inspection methods, and tools
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement tools, and problem-solving techniques including CORE/ACE/SixSigma, QCPC, RCCA Red-X, and Fault Tree
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, SAP ERP, and Solumina MES
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management, shop personnel, and customers
  • Experience in supplier quality, engineering, operations, supply chain, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, automotive, or another heavily regulated industry
