About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as both a technical trainer and field engineering support specialist for the Land-Based Phalanx Weapon System (LPWS)
  • Develop and deliver technical training for Field Engineers
  • Provide hands-on maintenance and system support for the U.S. Army customer
  • Address operational and maintenance-related inquiries as the technical subject matter expert
  • Train, evaluate, and certify Field Engineers prior to deployment
  • Partner with management teams
  • Develop training programs, schedules, and timelines for newly hired personnel
  • Provide expert guidance and perform testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on the LPWS
  • Analyze operational and deployed scenarios to design and adapt real-world training
  • Assess Field Engineer performance and create targeted lesson plans to address knowledge or skill gaps
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical specialists to refine lesson plans and validate technical documentation
  • Support program operations at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, or other CONUS locations when training is not active

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Current Secret security clearance required on day 1
  • Direct, hands-on experience delivering technical training
  • Experience working with the Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) and/or Land-Based Phalanx Weapon System (LPWS)
  • Hands-on electronics experience, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency with tools and test equipment commonly used in electronic systems maintenance and testing
  • Graduation from a U.S. military sensor or radar technical school preferred
  • Strong understanding of sensor and radar system operations and maintenance preferred
  • Knowledge of military protocol and operational standards preferred
  • Prior military experience highly desirable
  • Previous deployment experience in a combat environment preferred
  • Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and negotiation skills preferred
  • Ability to prioritize, manage workload effectively, and work independently
