About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage day-to-day Corporate ledger activity and technical accounting matters under RTX Policy and US GAAP
- Own accounting areas including incentive compensation, stock-based compensation, equity, captive insurance, risk management, and other specialized Corporate topics
- Lead analytical reviews of Corporate balance sheet and P&L accounts
- Prepare or contribute to quarterly and annual financial reporting deliverables related to equity
- Identify and evaluate risks and opportunities and develop recommendations for resolution
- Collaborate with Corporate functions and RTX business units to accurately record significant, unusual, or complex transactions and update estimates
- Support enterprise-wide initiatives, including ERP implementation and account reconciliation enhancements
- Lead Corporate accounting process improvements using the CORE framework and related tools, including AI-enabled efficiencies
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation, especially for ERP-related changes
- Prepare accounting memos and documentation for complex or unusual transactions
- Assist with ad hoc analysis and special projects for Corporate leadership and cross-functional teams
- Partner with external auditors on quarterly reviews and the annual financial statement audit
Requirements
What you’ll need- University Degree and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience, or 12 years of relevant experience in absence of a degree
- Experience in technical accounting, including researching and applying US GAAP
- Experience with quarterly business results, balance sheet and P&L statements, and senior-management support and periodic reviews
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to support a flexible schedule during peak quarter-end and year-end close periods, including possible meetings outside local business hours or occasional weekend/holiday support
- Ability to travel periodically to the RTX Corporate Office in Farmington, CT, as needed
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- CPA certification or progress toward achieving CPA preferred
- Public accounting experience preferred
- At least three years of experience with SAP, OneStream, and BlackLine systems preferred
- Experience with ERP or financial system implementations preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint preferred
- Experience developing or enhancing standard process documentation, internal controls, or reconciliation processes preferred
- Experience working with cross-functional teams on complex or unusual transactions preferred
- RTX segment accounting or aerospace and defense industry experience preferred
- U.S. citizenship is required
