About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a strategic communications partner supporting the SBU Employee Engagement Communications Lead
  • Lead employee communications planning and execution for three Collins SBUs
  • Inform and engage employees on RTX-wide campaigns and Collins-specific initiatives
  • Draft town hall invitations, leadership messages, newsletter submissions, and other routine communications
  • Manage newsletter strategy and content calendars in alignment with Collins editorial processes
  • Manage internal storytelling for the company intranet, including strategy, writing, and publication coordination
  • Develop communications plans for major initiatives and campaigns, including success metrics
  • Send routine emails through Poppulo under leadership banners
  • Project-manage SBU employee engagement events, coordinating with speakers, Digital Technology, Creative Services, and others
  • Support communications plans for organizational announcements, transformation initiatives, and change management efforts
  • Track and analyze metrics to drive data-driven communications approaches
  • Support internal executive communications strategy and execution for SBU presidents, including message development, leader preparation, and president-level employee and leader events
  • Lead employee communications components of integrated campaigns and strategic pursuits
  • Support employee communications plans for Tier 1 tradeshows
  • Partner with global business communications leads and business leaders on campaign plans, messaging, and content
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Previous experience with internal communications strategies
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and social communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a sense of urgency
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and work within deadlines
  • Demonstrated agility and adaptability to changes in direction
  • Strong writing skills and familiarity with Associated Press writing style
  • Previous experience in storytelling that delivers impactful, positive outcomes
  • Experience in a matrixed, global environment preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience in the aerospace and defense industry preferred
  • Travel up to 10%, or as needed
  • Must satisfy U.S. export authorization requirements; immigration sponsorship may be offered if needed
