About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive supplier recovery, capability improvement, and sustainable performance within the Global Supplier Development organization
  • Support operational containment, supplier assessments, and structured improvement plans across global commodities
  • Lead internal and supplier containment actions with Operations and Quality
  • Facilitate supplier kick-off meetings and rapid response actions
  • Conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
  • Develop and implement improvement plans and communicate through plan review checkpoints
  • Monitor leading and lagging KPIs and evaluate containment exit criteria
  • Escalate persistent issues to crisis mode or tiger teams when warranted
  • Partner with Commodity Teams and SBUs to transition suppliers to sustainable operations
  • Identify supplier sites and prioritize development efforts based on risk, impact, and strategic commodity needs
  • Conduct supplier assessments using SRA, SHA, Gemba, and related methods
  • Engage suppliers through development roadmaps, training, and targeted maturity-model actions
  • Align with Commodity Managers and Engineering teams on supplier readiness for new programs or volume ramp-ups
  • Facilitate structured improvement plans, KPI tracking, and gate reviews
  • Monitor maturity targets and initiate sustainment planning
  • Support long-term monitoring and supplier re-engagement cycles
  • Develop manufacturing process technology tools and standardization, including FMEA and Control Plans
  • Lead or support supplier transitions with minimal disruption
  • Monitor supplier maturity post-transition and reinforce continuous improvement
  • Execute APQP for new product launches and work transition projects
  • Collaborate with Commodity Managers, Quality Assurance & Engineering, Operations and Planning, SBUs, Supplier Site Leadership, and Crisis Response and Tiger Teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Ability to travel to supplier sites as needed - minimum of 50% of time
  • Advanced proficiency in English
  • Experience leading supplier recovery efforts, supplier transitions, and RCCA investigations for critical quality and delivery issues
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean principles and tools
  • Experience managing supplier performance for engineered components and manufacturing processes, including castings, plastics, machining, mechanical fabrication, forgings, and electrical components
  • Experience presenting supplier performance and recovery plans to customers, senior leadership, and supplier executives
  • Experience using MS Office, LOB, WIP, Clear to Build, and milestone charts
  • Must be authorized to work in Mexico without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future
  • The company will not offer immigration sponsorship and will not seek export authorization for this role
