About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support TEMPEST/EMP operations by designing breakout boxes, procuring components, and facilitating builds of breakout boxes, bulkhead panels, and test setup ambient certifications
- Build and assemble test fixtures and cable assemblies under the Lead TEMPEST/EMP Engineer’s direction
- Review, update, and maintain engineering documentation and test procedures
- Apply advanced electronic theory and test methodologies to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges
- Set up, operate, and validate laboratory and on-platform test configurations
- Communicate with cross-functional teams and customers during system-level test activities
- Identify process improvements and enhance engineering practices
- Serve as technical lead for assigned tasks
- Ensure compliance with EHS, RTX Quality, and Physical and Cyber Security policies
- Perform off-hours work and periodic travel as required
- Perform 100% onsite work or work at customer locations as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. citizenship only; dual citizenship is not permitted
- Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance; active and existing security clearance required after day 1
- Typically requires an AA/AS degree or other 2-year post-high-school training with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- 10+ years of experience on E6 platforms, including system installation, wiring, system upgrades, post-installation checkouts, and field troubleshooting
- Proficiency with spectrum analyzers, VNAs, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, power meters, and frequency counters
- Strong skills interpreting wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, and assembly drawings
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Visio
- Familiarity with electronic test instruments and system-level test principles
- Certification may be required for technical support roles
- Preferred: minimum 10 years of hands-on TEMPEST experience, including test setups and TEMPEST certification support
- Preferred: experience with RF systems, RF test instrumentation, and RF troubleshooting
- Preferred: knowledge of electronic formulas and methods for testing, diagnosing, and maintaining RF systems
- Preferred: experience with AC, DC, and RF high-pot testing
