About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform design database and documentation checking for new design and drawing releases or revisions to existing designs, drawings, and documentation
  • Apply knowledge of manufacturing, tolerancing, and producibility capabilities during the design process to ensure cost-effective design
  • Assist engineering in determining and employing proper specifications for materials, finishes, processes, connectors, and other mechanical components
  • Apply company, industry, and contractual standards during preparation of hardware design and documentation data
  • Prepare necessary technical documentation for hardware design release
  • Enter data into the company documentation control system
  • Assist the CAD tool support team with testing and debugging software tools as vendor releases occur
  • Validate change definition artifacts for revisions to existing designs and drawing/documentation
  • Validate revision capture definition in formal design and documentation data according to defined change requirements
  • Learn about RTX's engineering and technology team in Puerto Rico, its technologies, industry, and work practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Candidate for an associate or degree in Drafting or Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment
  • Relocation is not offered
  • Basic understanding of GD&T principles
  • Basic understanding of ASME standards
  • Basic understanding of PDM (Teamcenter, ENOVIA, etc.)
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling software; NX or SolidWorks preferred
  • Monday-Friday Co-Op session from July to December, with students expected to take time off from coursework to fully engage
  • English (read, write, speak) required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
