About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support interpretation of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements used in mechanical hardware design
- Learn how manufacturing nonconformances are analyzed, documented, and resolved
- Gain exposure to root cause investigation and engineering dispositions
- Support supplier requests for information (SRIs) and their review and processing
- Support engineering change initiation and execution, including configuration control, documentation updates, and workflow
- Assist in updating drawings through the PW engineering change process
- Support engineering evaluations related to quality notifications and supplier inquiries on production hardware
- Participate in mechanical design tasks involving manufacturability, material selection, structural performance, thermal behavior, system constraints, and cost
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across APU and TJ programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering and actively enrolled through completion of the internship/co-op session
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment
- English (read, write, speak) is required for communication with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
- Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience preferred
- Coursework or project experience involving mechanical design, manufacturing processes, or engineering documentation preferred
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), or configuration-controlled technical data preferred
